So there we were the three of us hiking in the dark.
We were on a fire road at the end of a long day of hiking.
We still had two miles to go and all we had to see with was a single flashlight. We knew there was a Y in the road and we were looking for it. I was the only one of the three that even knew there was a marker and a Y and what it looked like. We needed to find the marker and read it so we would know which direction led to the parking lot.
This week I am in that same place again, spiritually speaking. I know there is a Y in our trail coming up and we need to know which way to go. I feel like I am searching in the dark again. Now, the Word of God is our flashlight and I don’t know what the marker looks like but Jesus does and he knows where the Y in the trail is. He is going to lead us to it and show us which way to choose. We just need to trust him like my two friends had to trust me.
Today I stepped into a situation that felt like I walked into a lion’s den. Just as those words escaped my lips as I said it to my husband, the Holy Spirit whispered to me a reminder that Daniel came out of that lion’s den; alive and unscathed and even more confident in his God that is so faithful.
A small reminder that I just need to trust my Savior, he loves me so much, he already laid his life down for me.
