What I Will Never Get Used To

My kids being stared at as though they were a sideshow… and strangers taking photos of my kids as though they are a strange oddity.  I will never get why they all want photos of a white kid they don’t know.  What is the point of it???

This is always accompanied with, “hello baby…” even to my ten year old.  Isn’t a baby usually under two years old?

That Y In The Trail

I have been making reference to hiking in the dark and finding a Y in the trail. We found the Y in the dark and are on our way.

1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

We have planted, others will continue to water; but it is God who will bring the increase.

God is moving us on from where we have been planting in the tropics.

A farmer does not sow all his seed in the same spot. A farmer moves along the furrows of his field dropping a little seed as he goes down the row.  A farmer plants a crop in one field and then often has other fields that he plants in as well.

God is moving us on to another field.  He had us plant in this one for the last six years and now he is moving us on to another place.  “The next chapter in our lives” as one so aptly spoke recently.  I smile as I write that, it is the very same person that asked us to pray for his “umbrella” because God had sent him a typhoon when he prayed for some rain.

I keep saying that my life is crazy busy.  An international move can make your life more busy than you ever dreamed.  There is so much to do and plan and pack and so much of it has to be done at the last minute.  It is mind numbing to be quite honest, at least for me it is.

I have gotten to the point that I am just riding the waves as they come.  They are constantly changing.  Some waves are fun like last minute trips to favorite places like the Pearl Farm and then there are those that completely knock you off your raft and flip it upside down.  Which is particularly stressful if you are at a point where you can’t touch bottom so it is God that is going to have to come to your rescue and put you back on your raft.

God is faithful and knows our needs so we will trust that he knows what he is doing.  He is the one who has allowed the wave to knock us off the raft momentarily.

I must go and pack some boxes now.

I promise to post about our Pearl Farm trip soon but it maybe AFTER our container is packed.

Breakfast At The Pearl Farm

I wonder. Surely I am not the only mom who sits in the bathroom, and blogs while her kid plays in the bathtub.

I have not posted in quite a long time because things here in my home and life are so very busy.

So, while she soaks and plays I will type.

We were treated to a trip to the Pearl Farm recently. The Pearl Farm is one of my favorite places to visit. It is a quiet beach resort that is only a 40 minute boat ride away from where we live. The facilities are very nice. The food is good, well, that is if you like eating this for breakfast:

Oh, you need a closer look? How about this:
Yes, my friends those are fish heads… not chopped up pieces of fish, fish heads.

However the rest of the food was yummy stuff and there was a lot of fresh native fruits.

Since my life is insanely busy I will have to post more about the trip to Pearl Farm at another time.

Understanding The Will Of The LORD

Great message from my husband the other day…

Understanding What the Will of the Lord is.

Ephesians 5:17 – Be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

A) If you are seeking God’s will, you can understand that He will direct your way. Proverbs 16:9 – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

1) When we seek God’s general will (as clearly taught in Scripture) we can be sure that He will direct us into His specific will. Proverbs 23:37 – The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

2) His way may not be what you had in mind, but He will direct your steps, even when we do not realize it sometimes. Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

B) We must understand that seeking God’s will does not include “fainting” (quitting).
Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Hebrews 12:3 – For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

1)Wanting to quit and actually quitting are two different things.

2)We must win our mental battles with daily renewal of our minds.

Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.C) We must understand that God will bring the “increase” even if we do not see it ourselves.
1 Corinthians 3:7 – So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.Challenge: God will not bring any “increase” through us if we are not first seeking his general will or if we “faint” while seeking His specific will for our lives.Edification: Seek, don’t faint, trust Him for the increase.

So glad I married him.

So glad he loves the LORD.
So glad we are hiking together.
